The senators from the Defense Committee have set themselves the goal of finalizing the draft law on Romania's national defense by the end of March.
The debates will continue next week with representatives of the institutions with responsibilities in the field.
Simple motion addressed to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Oana Toiu
Also in the Senate, on Monday, a new simple motion of the opposition addressed to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Oana Toiu, will be debated and voted on.
The initiative belongs to the "Peace - Romania First" group and is supported by AUR. The initiators criticize the way in which the foreign policy field is managed.
Ninel Peia: This motion is not about the person of Mrs. Oana Toiu as an individual, it is about her role as a minister and about a wrong way of doing foreign policy, a progressive ideological way, disconnected from the economic reality of Romania.
Minister of the Environment, at "Government Hour"
At the Chamber of Deputies, Minister of the Environment, Diana Buzoianu, is invited to the political debate within the "Government Hour".
Social Democrats demand explanations regarding the blocking of a strategic investment, the Mihaileni accumulation.
Diana Buzoianu: The Government cannot intervene beyond a final decision of the courts. The solution is that future authorizations that are given in legal procedures take into account the legislation, so that the state no longer makes itself vulnerable when it goes ahead with such projects.
Debate on the draft national defense law
Last but not least, the debate on the draft national defense law will continue.
At the end of last year, the normative act passed tacitly by the Chamber of Deputies.
Members of the specialized committee in the Senate aim to have a text of the law agreed by all parties by the end of next month.
