The governing coalition will see its mandate through to the end, Social Democrat leader Marcel Ciolacu said on Friday in Suceava. According to him, the new government will be sworn in by December 23.

Marcel Ciolacu: Romania really needs political stability and we have assumed this political stability. Remember the complexity of the problems at that time, three years ago, when we decided to enter government, and I believe that we have brought coherence to the act of government and a difference from the old right-wing coalition. We are mature people, we have, of course, as in politics, a not necessarily common interest in these elections, because this time we are running separately. I showed them the potential of a joint candidacy in the European Parliament. They chose another way.
