Russia continues to bomb Ukrainian cities. Immediately after the summit, it launched the largest drone and missile attack in almost a month, and on Tuesday evening it bombed the city and region of Odessa, including near the border with Romania, after six people requested information at the emergency number 112 to ask for details about the RO-Alert message issued in the evening for the northern area of Tulcea County.
The alert drew attention to the possibility of objects falling from the airspace. In the RO-Alert message, citizens were asked to follow the recommendations of the authorities and take safety measures.
Cristina Profir, spokesperson for ISU Delta: We remind citizens that the territory of Romania is not targeted by the attacks of the Russian Federation, and we ask the population to respect the safety measures transmitted by the Romanian authorities, to carefully read the messages they receive from them, not to panic and to announce any emergency situation to the number 112, or to request help if they need it. The estimated duration of the air alert was 90 minutes, and during this time six calls were recorded to the single emergency number 112, requesting additional information.
RRA correspondent Luiza Rosetti recorded. The alert came in the context in which the Russian attack also targeted the Danube ports in Ukraine.
Corneliu Pavel, spokesperson for the Ministry of National Defense: The air surveillance system of the Ministry of National Defense identified on the night of August 19-20 groups of drones launched by the Russian Federation, which attacked the Ukrainian ports on the Danube. Two Typhoon aircraft of the German Air Force, which are deployed at the 57th Mihail Kogalniceanu Air Base for Reinforced Air Policing missions, were taken into the air to monitor the situation in the border area with Ukraine, in northern Tulcea County. During the mission, no intrusions of any aircraft into the national airspace were recorded.
