The Government's assumption of responsibility for the second package of fiscal measures to reduce the budget deficit will most likely take place next week, announces the President of the Senate, Liberal Mircea Abrudean.
He indicated that there are still discussions to resolve "certain ambiguities" or to finalize the last details regarding this package and added that he does not believe there will be problems if there is a motion of censure from the opposition.
Mircea Abrudean: We will see the true reality when this second package comes to Parliament. Package 2 is currently under procedure, as you well know, and is approved by the government. The government is a coalition government, with PSD, PNL, UDMR and USR ministers, as it was last time. When this package comes to Parliament, we will really see if any party in the coalition intends in any way to block the second package of reforms. It is the right of the opposition to submit a motion. I do not think that anyone in the coalition will vote for a motion of censure against their own government.
From the opposition, the leader of the AUR senators, Petrisor Peiu, announced yesterday that the party's parliamentarians will submit a motion of censure.
According to his statements, among the measures in the second package that will affect the middle class and business development is the decision to increase the contribution ceiling to the Social Security Fund for independent activities. Petrisor Peiu expects parliamentarians from other parties to sign the motion.
