Marcel Ciolacu: The package of fiscal measures will stimulate honest work and discourage evasion

The package of fiscal measures and budget expenditure reduction was discussed in the first reading this evening by the Government.

Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu said that this project proposes to place the tax system on a fair basis.

The executive wants, through these fiscal measures, to stimulate honest work and discourage evasion, the head of the government said.

Marcel Ciolacu added that the Executive proposes a balanced approach, with four components.

Marcel Ciolacu: Reducing state spending is the first, followed by increasing collection and combating tax evasion, and the key elements of the project are related to the overtaxation of luxury, vice and excessive profit and, extremely important, ensuring fiscal equity between taxpayers. Reducing state spending is the basic principle from which we started. You cannot ask only the private sector to make efforts, the state must also set an example.

The package of fiscal measures and budget expenditure reduction is to be adopted by the Government by assuming responsibility in the Parliament.
