Ilie Bolojan's cabinet could be sworn in next week

The new executive, led by Ilie Bolojan, could be sworn in next week, on Tuesday or Friday, before President Nicusor Dan, according to political sources. Parliament is expected to hold a special session in the middle of summer to adopt fiscal measures to reduce the budget deficit.
Oana Bala, with details from Cotroceni: “Romania needs an urgent economic recovery, and for this there must be a solid foundation”, said President Nicusor Dan, after announcing that he had appointed Ilie Bolojan as prime minister. According to the head of state, the Liberal leader is the most suitable person to make the necessary adjustments to the state apparatus.
Nicusor Dan: "We need to correct the financial deficit in order to lay the foundations for the Romanian economy, with all its potential, to develop and bring prosperity to Romanians. Mr. Ilie Bolojan is a person who, in his previous positions as mayor and president of the County Council, has proven, on the one hand, that he knows how to reduce and streamline spending and, on the other hand, that he has a vision for development."
In turn, Prime Minister-designate Ilie Bolojan listed the main directions he will pursue in negotiations to secure a parliamentary majority.
Ilie Bolojan: “I will pursue three directions: to put the country's finances in order, to work for good governance that will create conditions for development in Romania, and through everything we do, to show the respect due to Romanians.”
The new executive could be sworn in on Tuesday at the Cotroceni Palace if the political agreement between the parties that make up the governing coalition is finalized today, political sources said. In this case, the hearing of ministers and the vote in Parliament would take place on Monday.
Otherwise, the hearings would take place on Monday and Tuesday, the vote in Parliament would take place on Wednesday, and next Friday, the new government would be sworn in. The same political sources also said that measures to reduce the budget deficit will be adopted in an extraordinary session of Parliament at the end of July.
