Romania exports almost twice as many products to the UK as it imports, Robert Uzuna, the president of the Romanian-British Chamber of Commerce, said on Saturday on Radio Romania News.
The value of Romanian exports is approximately 7.2 billion pounds sterling, he mentioned.
Robert Uzuna on the products that Romania exports to the UK: Romania's number one export product is the car sector, where we have no less than 1.2 billion pounds sterling. Surprisingly, however, right after, are beverages and tobacco, although here a very simple explanation could also come from the fact that in Romania we have some very big players in these industries, in the tobacco industry for example, where we also have factories and, therefore, we are an export platform for something like that. Our export continues with the area of industrial machinery, electrical equipment and commercial vehicles, which, if you like, are very much also in the direction of the automotive sector.
