Strategic partnership between Romania and Ukraine

The presidents of Romania and Ukraine signed, on Thursday, in Bucharest, the joint declaration on the strategic partnership between the two states.

Co-production of defense materials and cooperation in the energy field

The joint declaration of intent on the co-production of defense materials and the framework for cooperation in the energy field were also signed.

The declaration on the Romania-Ukraine strategic partnership represents an important moment in the bilateral relationship, said President Nicusor Dan.

He mentioned that historically there was distrust between the two countries, but this evaporated when the war began in 2022.

Joint production of drones in Romania

The discussions between the two heads of state also targeted the joint production of drones in Romania, said President Nicusor Dan, who emphasized that another topic addressed with Volodymyr Zelensky also targeted the Romanian minority in Ukraine.

We have received guarantees regarding the continuation of the operation of schools in the Romanian language and for all other rights of the Romanian minority, in accordance with the rights of minorities established by the International Charter, President Nicusor Dan also indicated.

In turn, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Romania and Ukraine have potential for collaboration in the energy field and also mentioned that the two countries are collaborating to open new border crossing points.
