Romania will equip itself militarily with what it needs, so as to increase the level of security in the Black Sea - says the Minister of Defense, Angel Tilvar.

At a military equipment production factory in Timisoara, he also said that we are a safe country, but at the same time, we must be prepared to face the challenges posed by the war in Ukraine:

Angel Tilvar: We want to acquire some military capabilities that will allow the Black Sea, from a security point of view, to be a safe area. Romania is not in conflict with anyone at the moment. I've been there ever since the drone wreckage was found. The possibility of such incidents occurring exists. We are doing everything we can and have publicly communicated the additional measures we took after drone debris was found on Romanian territory. We do our best to ensure a climate of normalcy. Regarding the safety we can have, yes, Romania is a safe country at the present time, it is in a period of peace, but we cannot help but bring up the proximity component that this war of aggression, unprovoked war, at the borders of Romania brings for the concern that the citizens of this country have.

Director: Angel Tilvar also mentioned that the army is still interested in attracting young people, especially since, recently, there has been a wave of departures from the system through retirement.
