The number of applications for the European Health Insurance Card "has increased"

The implementation of the online application system for European health insurance cards has led to a significant increase in the number of applications. The whole process takes just a few minutes, without the need to go to county health offices. However, many Romanians going abroad ignore this facility.
Many who cross the border to go on holiday or on business to different EU countries ignore such a facility, which would save them a lot of trouble in the event of an accident. The director of contractual relations of CAS Arad, Bianca Gaicean, says that since the implementation of the system whereby applications can be submitted online, the number of applications for the European health card has steadily increased.
Bainca Gaicean: This European card covers emergency situations or when unforeseen circumstances arise and the person in question needs medical treatment during their leave or temporary stay, regardless of the purpose of the trip.
What can be said, from the point of view of interest, given that it is an additional means of protection?
Bianca Gaicean: The number of applications is increasing at a rather slow pace, but it is still an upward trend. Since we have this possibility of filing online, we have had 925 applications registered in May. In June there are already 445 applications.
After applying online, the European Health Insurance Card is delivered by Romanian Post within seven days. It is valid for two years from the date of issue.
