The Bucharest Court of Appeal has again postponed its ruling in the cases requesting the suspension of the appointment of judges Mihai Busuioc and Dacian Dragos to the Constitutional Court. Judge Olimpia Creteanu will issue a decision on February 11, the same day that the Constitutional Court is scheduled to debate the reform of magistrates' service pensions, a decision that has also been postponed several times.
The plaintiff, Silvia Uscov, claims that the two constitutional magistrates do not meet one of the conditions for appointment to office, namely at least 18 years of experience in legal practice or higher legal education.
Dacian Dragos is part of the CCR camp that supports the government's plan to reform magistrates' pensions, a camp that has a fragile majority of five to four, RRA editor Diana Surdu points out.
