RADIO ROMANIA, a landmark institution in the history of communication and national culture, turns 97 on Saturday.
On November 1, 1928, at 5 p.m., the first broadcast of the Romanian Radio Broadcasting Society was aired.
The first words "Hello, hello, here's RADIO BUCHAREST" were spoken by the Society's president, Dragomir Hurmuzescu, the founder of Romanian radio.
The Radio's birthday is celebrated on Saturday by all of the Society's stations through special editions, distinguished guests, and dialogues with listeners.
"As Romania looks, so does RADIO ROMANIA"
In a morning intervention, on Radio Romania News, the president and general director of the Romanian Broadcasting Company, Razvan-Ioan Dinca, emphasized that in today's world, dominated by algorithms and everything digital, by superficial, unverified, unimportant things, RADIO ROMANIA remains a benchmark:
Razvan-Ioan Dinca: The fact that we are currently somewhere at 25-30% of the radio market in Romania means that we have not lost our relevance. We continue our lives and those of others by telling the stories of the country as best we can. We will continue to do so! We have a certain type of traditionalism in what we do, but at the same time we also flirt with digitalization, with everything that is contemporary and we do it the right way, in tune with the times. If we reflect something, we cannot reflect anything other than Romania. As Romania looks, so does RADIO ROMANIA.
