Ovidius University of Constanta produces and consumes, as of this week, green energy from all three groups of photovoltaic power plants installed on campus and in the student dormitories in the Faleza Nord area.
In total, the plants can deliver a maximum power of 660 kilowatt/hour to the alternating current network, generating green energy through over 1.100 photovoltaic panels. The university thus ensures the institution's self-consumption during the day.
After obtaining prosumer status, an annual production is estimated that will almost entirely cover the institution's energy needs, reports RRA correspondent Sorin Cealera.
In the medium term, Ovidius University of Constanta aims to develop a system for storing solar energy produced during the day and install charging stations for electric cars for students and teachers, consolidating its role as a regional benchmark in the field of energy efficiency and social responsibility.
