Modernisation of Mihail Kogalniceanu Base discussed by Defence Minister and US Ambassador

The plans to modernise the 57th "Mihail Kogalniceanu" Air Base in Constanta County and the prospects for bilateral cooperation in the military field were discussed on Monday in Bucharest by Defence Minister Angel Tilvar and US Ambassador to Romania Kathleen Kavalec.
The Romanian Defence Minister praised the professionalism of the US troops deployed in Romania and said that these deployments are proof of the solidarity and commitment of the United States to the Black Sea region.
The two sides stressed that continued multidimensional international assistance is essential to support Ukraine in its defensive effort and to restore regional and global order, as well as stability, a Ministry of Defence statement said.
