Funds allocated for organizing December by-elections

The Ministry of European Projects has been mandated to conclude new contracts for the grant scheme in the form of vouchers to accelerate the use of energy from renewable sources.

Also in the extraordinary meeting on Friday, the government approved the amounts necessary for organizing the December by-elections.

The Ministry of Interior will receive the most money, 45 million lei, to ensure the smooth conduct of the local by-elections on December 7, when the president of the Buzau County Council, the general mayor of the capital and mayors from several localities in the country will be elected.

In turn, the Permanent Electoral Authority will receive over 16 million lei. In total, the government estimates that these elections will cost 67.6 million lei.

Also in today's extraordinary meeting, the executive adopted a memorandum that allows the Ministry of European Projects to continue financing a chapter of the NRRP, which grants vouchers for the installation of solar panels on single-family residential buildings.

This grant scheme is only addressed to energy-poor households and vulnerable energy consumers.
