Finance Minister: draft budget to be ready by January 27

The draft budget will be ready by January 27, Finance Minister Tanczos Barna assures.
He told RRA on Monday that a detailed analysis has already begun with the relevant ministries, and that the deficit assumed for 2025 will be 7%:
Tanczos Barna: Our priorities for 2025 are, once again, to pay pensions at the level of the pension that was indexed and recalculated in 2024 for every pensioner, to pay salaries at the level of the November salary in the public sector, to secure funds for investments so that investments in road infrastructure, highways, water-canal infrastructure and other infrastructure at the level of local public authorities are not stopped and slowed down. At the same time, we must continue to invest and ensure funding for the health system, so that the hospitals that have been started and the construction work that has been started can continue and, in parallel, we must also be able to provide the arms industry with the funding it needs to meet Romania's international and regional obligations in the field of defense.
Referring to the merging of some institutions and limiting the number of posts, Minister Tanczos Barna said that in no case will there be mass layoffs, but there will probably be natural departures from the system within a reasonable time.
