The police have drawn up a criminal case relating to a small civilian drone that was reported in the airspace near the "Henri Coanda" Otopeni Airport.
The investigations are being carried out for the commission of the crime of operating an aircraft in a prohibited area, provided for by the Air Code.
According to the press release of the General Inspectorate of the Romanian Police, within the framework of the investigation, the police are collaborating with the authorities with responsibilities in the field to accurately establish the factual situation and identify the drone operator.
Two days ago, the crew of an aircraft reported the presence of a drone near the runway during the approach for landing at Henri Coanda Airport.
The plane landed safely and the incident was reported immediately.
Authorities remind that the operation of drones is strictly prohibited in the area and near civil and military airports, because their unauthorized use can seriously endanger flight safety and constitutes a criminal offense.
