Calin Georgescu has arrived at the headquarters of the District Court of Sector 1, where he filed, a few days ago, an appeal to the judicial control in the case in which he is under criminal investigation for six offenses, including instigation to actions against the constitutional order. The trial was due to start at 13:00. The former presidential candidate has a number of prohibitions, including the right to leave the country without judicial authorization.

He is also banned from posting legionist, fascist, anti-Semitic, racist or xenophobic content on social media. Prosecutors are accusing Calin Georgescu of masterminding a plan to destabilize Romania with the help of mercenaries led by Horatiu Potra after the Constitutional Court annulled the results of the first round of the presidential elections.
