Almost 23.000 Interior Ministry employees mobilized for the holidays

Nearly 23.000 employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs are mobilized over the holiday period to prevent illegal acts and intervene where needed.
These include police, gendarmes, firefighters, SMURD rescuers and border guards, who will pay special attention to tourist resorts, entertainment venues and crowded areas.
In addition, traffic police crews will be on the streets to increase safety on public roads.
No major incidents have been reported over the Christmas holiday, but the Interior Ministry has identified and sanctioned numerous criminal offenses and contraventions.
More than 20.000 checks were carried out with the new eDAC app, which is designed to show police officers all the information about a person by scanning their ID card or entering their vehicle registration number.
