World Radio Day, celebrated at Radio Romania

Articol de Radiojurnal, 13 Februarie 2024, 01:01

With special programs, Radio Romania celebrated World Radio Day on Tuesday 13 February.

Now in its centenary year, radio is described by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) as "an essential part of the lives of billions of people around the world".

This year's theme was Radio: a century of information, entertainment and education.

On Tuesday 13 February, the Romanian Broadcasting Corporation's stations featured interviews with journalists, media experts, professors, personalities and the opinions of our listeners. Radio Romania's programmes included debates on the future of radio and European Broadcasting Union (EBU) recordings featuring internationally renowned Romanian musicians.

All of this highlights the role of radio in the personal and professional lives of each of us. The UNESCO declaration dedicated to International Radio Day, entitled "Radio, the trusted guide in a changing world", will be available on the websites of all Radio Romania stations.

We are honoured to celebrate Radio for what it means every day: a provider of news, music, education, entertainment, a source of inspiration and a stimulator of imagination.

For all the good things radio offers us, we say Happy Birthday!
