Resolution "for the strengthening of democratic values"

PDL National Convention adopted on the proposal of Vasile Blaga, a resolution on which party is calling on all "pro-democratic forces in Romania must be prepared for the onslaught against the legality and the rule of law released by the Government led by Prime Minister USL Victor Ponta."

In the document read by Vasile Blaga, after being elected President of the PDL, there are mentioned "the unprecedented series of abuses against State institutions"; the fact that "for the first time in 22 years of democracy Prime Minister of the Government refused to abide by a decision of the Constitutional Court"; "repeated initiatives to amend the laws for their transformation from public interest norms into instruments to serve persons or parties".

According to the document, the PDL considers absolutely necessary to have a partnership with civil society to preserve and strengthen democratic values and state institutions, built over the past 22 years.

Blaga said that this resolution will be with PDL motion " For a fair society" the political programme of the party.

In Vasile Blaga’s team "I was expecting to come the winners."

Vice-president PDL Elena Udrea was surprised that in Vasile Blaga’s team are also contenders that have been losers in local elections.

"I expect that in Vasile Blaga’s team to come winners , to come those who have obtained votes in the local elections, those who are likely to be voted for the autumn", she claimed.

Elena Udrea has shown that it is important for the credibility of this team to be made up of people who have demonstrated that they are supported by the electorate.

"When you lose miserably with 8 percent and you think that you can be in the leadership of the PDL, I wonder how this will be seen from outside of the party ," she said.
