Campaign to spread false information online

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has reported the existence of an online campaign spreading false information, claiming that Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan announced Romania's entry into war starting in September.

These clips are fake, having been created using artificial intelligence programs, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs' press office.

At the same time, the institution encourages the population to verify their sources of information and not to distribute unverified content.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs also states that it is taking action to identify and combat disinformation campaigns that undermine trust in state institutions.
