Romania will send 40 firefighters and specialized equipment to Greece to limit the risks posed by forest fires.
Among the rescuers who will carry out missions near Athens between August 1 and September 15 are eight firefighters and emergency response equipment from the Bacau Emergency Situations Inspectorate, Ana Maria Cioaric, spokesperson for the institution, told RRA correspondent Gabriel Pop.
Ana Maria Cioaric: The first contingent of 40 firefighters and eight technical vehicles began their journey yesterday on the route from Ciolpani to Nea Makri, a town located in the Attica region, about 25 km northeast of Athens. The changeover will take place on August 16 and 31, 2025, when two other groups, each consisting of 40 firefighters, will replace the personnel on mission near Athens.
