Social Liberal Union won 49,68 per cent of the number of votes cast in the District Councils, members of the PDL obtained 14,91 per cent and PPDD-8,94 per cent, after pooling the results of 89,75 per cent of polling stations.

According to partial results released by BEC Tuesday morning, after pooling the results of the 15.178 from 16.910, USL has received 3.888.433 votes (49,68 per cent ), PDL has received 1.167.140 votes (14,91 per cent ).

People Party- Dan Diaconescu has received 699.946 votes ( 8,94%), UDMR received 440.167 votes (5,62%).

The results have emerged from incoming minutes centralizing and validated at BEC up to 8.30.

USL won 55,56 per cent of the votes for the General Council of Bucharest, followed by PDL with 16,39 per cent and PP-DD, 10,50 per cent of voter options that were presented at the urns, according to the results centralized by BEC in 626 polling stations of the 1.223.

Sorin Oprescu won the 55,71 per cent of votes, and Silviu Prigoană 16,49 per cent in elections for mayor, announced Tuesday morning, the Central Electoral Bureau( BEC), after pooling the results of 626 of the 1.223 polling stations.

In third place of voters options was Vasile Horia Mocanu, candidate of People Party-Dan Diaconescu, 9,12 per cent.

According to the partial official results announced by BEC, Sorin Oprescu was voted by 223.879 of Bucharest citizens, Silviu Prigoană (PDL) received 66.305 votes, and Vasile Horia Mocanu 36.652 votes.

Co-Chairman of USL, Crin Antonescu said that it was the merit of the Union candidates, but also the negative votes mattered.

"Image of President Traian Basescu was in the background of these elections, from my point of view, the dominant and, as far as the negative vote was negative, it was addressed to Traian Băsescu, Liberal Democratic Party being charged and being in the reality, the presidential party. On the other hand, the Social Liberal Union found in most cases viable candidates because where there were not found, it won "said Crin Antonescu.

There are voices in PDL who argue that the party must make an analysis of the results obtained in the meeting of the sitting director.

The spokesman, Sever Voinescu said that PDL has suffered a defeat because the party has lost even where least expected, as also confirmed the head of the Democrat-Liberal campaign, Vasile Blaga.

"It is a fact. PDL incurred losses and received a negative vote in many areas of the country. We missed three municipalities in the County capitals, Râmnicu Vâlcea, Ploieşti and Botoşani. We also have a very small number of Presidents of the county councils. We understand the message that voters sent to us. Voters have set the costs of governance in which they led all the brunt. We paid our governance costs says the head of the Democrat-Liberal campaign, Vasile Blaga-Liberals.

Moreover, Democrat- Liberals argue the victory of Emil Boc in Cluj is one token that can be a starting point for the right policy and to launch a powerful new political project.

Governance in the last 4 years has eroded PDL

The Liberal Democratic Party had been in Government for the last four years, a period of crisis, but unpopular measures taken have milled the confidence of the electorate, which is shown by the comparison with local elections in 2008.

At the local elections in 2008, PDL won 28,17 per cent of votes granted to county councilors at national level, while the PSD obtaining a number approximately equals the percentage won by 28.06.

Liberals, currently in USL, 19,80 per cent of the number of votes for the General Councils.

Mandates in 2008, when voted in two rounds, the Presidents of the county councils in 2008 were distributed as follows: PSD achieved the leadership in 17 counties, PDL 14 counties, PNL 5 counties and UDMR obtained in 4 counties the county chairmanship.

Democratic Forum of Germans, with only 0.69% of the votes cast at the national level by the counselors, judeţeni managed to obtain the Presidency of County Council SIbiu County.

In Bucharest, the vote for PDL for the position of general counselors was 36,74 per cent, while the PSD obtaining 24,28 per cent of the vote, while PNL gets 11,77 per cent .

In the second ballot the mayor Sorin Oprescu is elected with 56,55 per cent, less than in the first round of the 2012 (56,67 per cent ) against the PDL Vasile Blaga PDL, who only gets 43,44 percent.
