US Attorney General: Statement on Anti-Corruption in Romania
Barr hopes that Romania will reconsider amendments that "can undermine the fight against corruption".

US Attorney General William Barr hopes that Romania will reconsider amendments that "can undermine the fight against corruption". At the end of his visit to Bucharest, US official expressed confidence that Romania would take action to have an efficient, transparent and impartial Justice.
Barr also reminded that the Partnership between the United States and Romania has always been based on the values of the rule of law and good governance. "Romania is one of our strongest partners in the fight against cross-border crimes", US Attorney General said, according to a communiqué from US Department of Justice.
In Bucharest, Willliam Barr met with President Klaus Iohannis, Prime Minister Viorica Dancilă and Justice Minister Ana Birchall.
