The Senate will debate draft amendments to the military pensions law

The Senate will debate, as a decision-making body, the draft amendment to the law on military pensions: first in the Defense Committee and in plenary in the afternoon (subject to the tabling of the report).

The legislative proposal, initiated by a group of PNL MPs and adopted last week by the Chamber of Deputies, stipulates that these pensions will be indexed in relation to the pay or salary of rank or function.

If the update results in a lower pension than the one in payment, the amount in payment will be maintained.

The necessary funds for the payment of these entitlements in 2024 will be borne by the budgets of the institutions of the defense, public order and national security system.
