The Senate and Chamber of Deputies begin the first parliamentary session of the year on Monday, February 2.
The members of the Standing Bureaus, vice presidents, secretaries, and quaestors will be elected, with the exception of the presidents, who are elected when the legislature is formed for a four-year term.
Mircea Abrudean is the president of the Senate, and Sorin Grindeanu is the president of the Chamber of Deputies.
Among the coalition's priorities for the upcoming parliamentary session are the reform of local and central public administration, economic recovery measures, and the 2026 state budget law.
The opposition will come up with its own initiatives related to reducing state spending, protecting citizens from high energy costs, and changing the mandate of CCR judges.
In addition, the opposition is preparing new simple motions against the ministers of Foreign Affairs and Defense, as well as a motion of censure against the government.
