The Port of Constanta has received over €160 million in European funds

The port of Constanta, which is at the heart of the corridors of solidarity, has benefited from more than €160 million of European investment in rail infrastructure and electrification of the rail connection from the post, European Commissioner for Transport Adina Valean said today.

Presenting the results of her term of office, she also emphasized that she had made every effort to ensure that the Port of Constanta remained the gateway for goods from Asia.

Adina Valean: I intend to keep Constanta as the gateway for the middle corridor, which will link Asia with the European Union. I have put this middle corridor on the agenda and on the documents of international formats. We are working through the various international programs of the European Union, in collaboration with Asian partners, to strengthen this middle corridor. This represents a new opportunity for the future for Constanta, to be one of the European Union's key gateways of entry, especially for goods from Asia.
