The Government's analysis was, on Friday, the implementation status of the projects from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan. The discussions between the Prime Minister and the representatives of the ministries focused on reducing or modifying some milestones considered unrealistic, in order to facilitate, thus, the payment of the related requests. The Government recently closed two major reforms, essential for the unblocking of European money: the one regarding Romsilva and the one regarding the pensions of magistrates.
Reporter: Petruta Obrejan - "The ministries coordinating reforms and investments must accelerate their pace, so that the commitments assumed by Romania are applied by August 31 this year", said Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, who, at the previous meeting of the Interministerial Committee, emphasized that the responsibility for failure to fulfill the commitments will be political for ministers and state secretaries, including dismissals from office, if Romania loses money from the NRRP.
He also demanded that there be no delays in paying invoices for the work carried out within the projects. The Minister of Investments, Dragos Pislaru, explained, in turn, that by adopting the decarbonization project and by reforming the Romsilva company, two other milestones in the NRRP were closed, and in the following period, Romania should benefit from over 3 billion euros.
The money is related to payment requests 3 and 4. As for the 231 million euros, money from the NRRP conditioned on the achievement of the milestone regarding magistrates' pensions, the Minister of Investments stated that Romania's arguments will be analyzed by the European Commission, and a decision in this regard will be taken by the end of this month.”
