Representatives of the Alliance for the Union of Romanians and those of the SOS Romania party refused to participate in the consultations initiated by President Nicusor Dan at the Cotroceni Palace on the country's economic and political situation.
The leadership of the POT party announced that it would be present at the series of discussions, scheduled to end with a meeting to which unaffiliated parliamentarians were invited.
The head of state specified that the discussions would focus on how to balance the state budget and the new government. The PNL, USR, and UDMR parties openly expressed their intention to participate in the formation of a government that would take concrete measures to restore the budget.
The interim leader of the PSD reaffirmed that the Social Democrats will make a decision after the directions for action have been clearly established, and Sorin Grindeanu said that the party base would also be consulted in this regard, referring to the large number of PSD mayors and other local elected officials at national level.
