Technological development of district heating power plants key to efficient heating

The key to efficient and safe home heating in the capital is the technological development of district heating power plants, ELCEN's director said at an event on energy.
Claudiu Cretu said that centralized heating is preferable to apartment central heating, and that next year will be one of big investments for the company he heads: "The role of Bucharest's energy infrastructure is the most important. What would happen if one of the power plants in Bucharest stopped working? A sector or two, or half of the city, so several hundred thousand people would no longer have heat.
When it is modernized, the centralized system is the most efficient, economical and, mind you, safe system and should be used everywhere. I have been talking about the centralized system being the safest for almost 10 years now. Theoretically gas should be taken out of condominiums. The most efficient, here in Oradea, the model. With the elimination of losses and with CETs to 2020s technology, obviously there is efficiency, it's about changing the technology."
