The new school year begins in two days without the usual festivities in several educational institutions and with teacher protests across the country, and those who will be in the classrooms to welcome the students will not get involved in activities, will not distribute textbooks, will not set up meetings with parents and will not issue absences. Reporter: Because there is no clear centralized situation regarding how the school year will open on Monday, the Ministry of Education has requested that parents be informed about the situation in each school in order to know what students and preschoolers will do.
In fact, teachers have announced that they will not stop the protests next week either. They have been taking to the streets for about three weeks, in the capital and in the country, and the grievances are the same: increasing the teaching norm, increasing the number of students in a class and merging schools.
All are part of the first package of fiscal measures adopted by the government. And in order to ensure order around educational institutions, the Romanian Police announces that the National Plan to combat school violence has been drawn up.
Patrols will be provided in their perimeter, and on Monday, the first day of school, at national level, over 8.600 police officers will be present near educational institutions.
In addition, campaigns to prevent acts of violence in schools will continue this fall.
In the capital, four public transport lines could be diverted between 10:00 and 12:00 in the context of the protests in Victoriei Square, announces the Association for Intercommunity Development for Public Transport Bucharest-Ilfov. These are lines 100, 203, 205 and 381.
