"Romania's NATO membership is a security guarantee for our country"

"Romania's membership in NATO is a security guarantee for our country", wrote Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu in an internet post.

In its 20 years of membership in the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation, which turns 20 today, Romania has become an important pillar and has strengthened its position within the Alliance, respecting its security commitments in the Black Sea area.

"Romania will continue to contribute constructively within NATO - says the Prime Minister - to the strengthening and development of the Alliance, so that the collective security guarantees will provide Romanians with the stability and security they need".
