Romania was elected as a full member of UNESCO's Executive Board. This is a four-year term, which allows Romania to participate in decisions on education, science, culture, and communication at international level and to contribute to the implementation of the organization's program until 2029, according to a statement from the Romanian Embassy to UNESCO.
With the opportunity to be directly involved in international projects and initiatives, Romania will support the reduction of digital divides, the protection of cultural heritage, the promotion of education and science, as well as freedom of expression and the safety of journalists, the MFA press release also states.
