Radio Romania, national market leader

Radio Romania has reconfirmed its position as leader of the Romanian radio market, according to data from the latest wave of the Audience Study. Nationally, Radio Romania stations rank first among media groups, with a market share of 23.2%. This performance is maintained in both urban and rural areas, where Radio Romania is also the market leader: 20.5% market share in urban areas and 26.8% market share in rural areas.
As regards the urban and Bucharest audiences, Radio Romania News remains the main source of information, ranking first in the audience ratings: 12.1% market share in urban areas and 14.9% market share in Bucharest.
Radio Romania Regional's market share increased nominally compared to the previous wave (wave II 2025), both nationally (7.2%) and in urban (5.3%) and rural (9.9%) areas. Radio Romania Cultural also recorded a nominal increase in market share at national, urban, and rural levels compared to the summer wave of 2025.
Radio Romania Musical has recorded a nominal increase in market share in the Bucharest market compared to the previous measurement wave as well, but also compared to the autumn wave of 2024.
At the same time, Radio Antena Satelor recorded a significant increase compared to the previous wave (summer 2025), both in terms of market share and number of listeners among the commercial audience in Bucharest.
The data is provided by the Radio Audience Study, conducted between September 1 and December 14, 2025, by Mercury Research and the Romanian Institute for Evaluation and Strategy (IRES). The research was conducted on a sample of 10.306 people, with a margin of error of 1.1%, using the Day After Recall (DAR) method and computer-assisted telephone interviews (CATI).
Radio Romania thus consolidates its status as the main benchmark for accurate information, professionalism, and public service in Romanian broadcasting.
