PSD remains in government but sets conditions for participation in coalition meetings. Interim President Sorin Grindeanu said that his party is requesting meetings with representatives of the Ministry of Finance to see an up-to-date execution of the state budget, as some investments need to continue.
Sorin Grindeanu: It is absolutely necessary to talk about the continuation of large and small investments, whether we are talking about investments in highways, hospitals and all major objectives, or about "Anghel Saligny" and the National Investment Company. We need to discuss what measures, from our perspective, should be reconsidered in the area of education.
Once these things continue and financing for "Anghel Saligny" and for investments is ensured, we will move on to the third stage, the one related to the package of measures on health, on administration, on fiscal measures, but which must also include something else, namely, measures to relaunch the economy.
Recall that at the end of last week, the interim leader of the PSD, Sorin Grindeanu, announced that the party would consider remaining in government, after the coalition partner, USR, opposed the organization of a state funeral for former president Ion Iliescu.
