RADIO ROMANIA NEWS - Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca met at the Victoria Palace with the European Commissioner for Employment and Social Rights Nicolas Schmit.
The two officials analyzed the European Union's response to the crisis caused by Russian military aggression in Ukraine.
The Romanian chief executive presented Romania's strategy for ensuring energy independence through the use of nuclear energy, developing the capacity to produce renewable energy and exploiting new offshore natural gas fields.
Nicolas Schmit emphasized the effectiveness of the Romanian authorities' efforts to receive more than half a million refugees and expressed the European Commission's support for quick access to funds already available to Member States, which will be supplemented with new resources - said the RRA editor, Petruta Obrejan.
