There are very few ballot minutes left from the first round of the presidential election to be centralised.
The results announced by the Permanent Electoral Authority are the same: George Simion in first place, followed by Nicusor Dan.
According to the latest information, based on the centralisation of 20.084 minutes out of a total of 20.085, the AUR candidate George Simion is in first place with 40.96% of the votes, followed by the independent Nicusor Dan with 20.99%, the ruling coalition candidate Crin Antonescu in third place with 20.07% and Victor Ponta with 13.05% in fourth place, the other candidates being below this last threshold. However, these are partial results.
You should be aware that until midnight on Tuesday, applications for the annulment of the elections on grounds of electoral fraud can still be submitted to the Constitutional Court, and on 8 May, the Central Electoral Bureau will submit the minutes and the results of the vote to the Constitutional Court.
The CC will then validate the elections and publish the results in the Official Gazette, so that the campaign for the second round of elections can start on 9 May.
