The plenary session of the Senate and Chamber of Deputies scheduled for this afternoon was postponed and set to begin at 5 p.m.
According to political sources, the government is still analyzing amendments to the fiscal package for which it intends to take responsibility.
The joint plenary session to take responsibility for the Bolojan cabinet has been rescheduled for 5 p.m. by decision of the leadership of the two chambers of Parliament.
The meeting was originally scheduled for 3 p.m., but according to political sources, there are still discussions on certain amendments to the draft fiscal-budgetary measures.
Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan is expected to present the first package of measures to reduce the budget deficit, a parliamentary procedure that does not involve debates and a final vote in the legislature.
The opposition has three days to submit a motion of no confidence, provided that a quarter of the total number of parliamentarians sign the document, specifically 117 senators and deputies.
The Alliance for the Union of Romanians has already announced that it will initiate such a move to dismiss the government led by Ilie Bolojan.
AUR representatives believe that the measures proposed by the ruling coalition would mean austerity for Romanians and the preservation of privileges.
