National CleanUp Day in Romania

Romanian volunteers of all ages marked, on Saturday, September 21, National CleanUp Day, with ecological actions that took place in 26 counties. Event was organized by Association "Let's Do It, Romania!" and was also supported by National Directorate of Forests, Romsilva.

National CleanUp Day was being carried out simultaneously in over 100 countries.

Last year, 11 million volunteers from 158 states collected nearly 89 thousand tons of waste. According to statistics, every year, between five and twelve million tons of plastic reach the oceans.
