Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomes the launch of Operation "Eastern Sentinel"

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Bucharest welcomes the launch of the new increased vigilance activity on NATO's Eastern Flank and notes that the defensive measures included in Operation "Eastern Sentinel" are a necessary response to Russia's irresponsible and dangerous activities, which have serious negative implications on the territory of the North Atlantic Alliance.
The Ministry of National Defense thanks the allies for their constant support and for their contribution to considering the defense and deterrence posture, reaffirming Romania's commitment to actively participate in the implementation of the new NATO operation, which has a strictly defensive role and represents a firm and rapid response to recent incidents, a Ministry of Defense press release states.
