Meeting of the National Council of the National Liberal Party

The National Council of PNL is meeting on Saturday to vote on a new statute that will allow liberals to bring new people into the leadership structures.

The decision will allow PNL to co-opt personalities to modernize this political formation, as interim president Ilie Bolojan recently explained.

Ilie Bolojan: A certain number of seats will be reserved in all leadership structures for prominent figures who are not members of PNL, so that we can bring in competence and value. Once this draft statute has been validated by the National Council and then approved by the Congress, PNL will have its doors open to receive competent and high-quality people, so that we can modernize this party.

Saturday's National Council is also set to prepare for the PNL Congress, which will take place next month and where a full president will be elected following Nicolae Ciuca's resignation from the party leadership.

Since then, the position of PNL president has been filled on an interim basis by Ilie Bolojan and Catalin Predoiu.
