Meeting in the context of weather warnings

A new meeting was held on Saturday on the preparations for the heavy rain showers forecast for most parts of the country from this evening.

The Interior Ministry officials discussed with prefects and heads of county emergency inspectorates the preventive and intervention measures needed to manage emergencies that may occur in the coming days.

Minister Catalin Predoiu has asked the prefects to maintain permanent contact with the presidents of the county councils and the town halls in the areas affected by the weather warnings, so that the population can be informed in good time about the weather forecast and the measures to be taken in the event of evacuations.

All emergency inspectorates under Code Orange will be mobilized to intervene quickly and promptly. To this end, it has been decided to double the number of firefighters on operational duty.
