The heatwave returns to most of the country this weekend. Tomorrow and Sunday there will be temperatures above 37 degrees and tropical nights.
The heatwave will only gradually subside on Monday, meteorologist Sorana Isoiu told Radio Romania News.
Sorana Isoiu: The National Meteorological Administration has issued a code yellow weather warning, valid for Saturday and targets heatwaves and high thermal discomfort in Banat, Crisana, Oltenia, Muntenia and southwest Dobrogea. Here, maximum temperatures will be between 35 and 37 degrees. Nighttime temperatures will generally be between 18 and 22 degrees, characterizing a tropical night. For Sunday we have both an orange and a yellow code in force. The orange code covers the counties of Bihor, Arad, Timis, Caras-Severin, Mehedinti and Dolj. In these counties, the maximum temperatures will be 38 - 39 degrees, and the minimum ones will be between 19 and 23 degrees. The yellow code for Sunday includes Maramures, western Transylvania, northern and eastern Oltenia, Muntenia, southern Moldova and the continental part of Dobrogea. From Monday, the heatwave and thermal discomfort will persist only in the southwest and south of the country.
