The number of advanced digital frauds has increased by 180% compared to last year due to the use of artificial intelligence to falsify identities or create fake images and recordings.
According to data cited by the National Cyber Security Directorate, the proportion of sophisticated fraud has risen from 10% to 28% in a single year, signaling a shift from simple attacks to precision options.
The most common methods remain misleading messages sent to obtain personal data, but more and more frauds are also occurring as a result of breaches at suppliers or through digitally invented identities.
Experts warn that false documents generated by artificial intelligence and systems capable of acting autonomously are becoming an increasingly serious threat.
