Moldova’s President Maia Sandu addresses the European Parliament in plenary session on Tuesday, at a crucial moment for her country’s future, just two weeks before the legislative elections.
The speech comes amid warnings that the Kremlin continues to use a range of tactics, including disinformation and vote-buying schemes.
The plenary will also debate ways to strengthen Moldova’s resilience against hybrid threats and Russian interference.
Also today, MEPs will speak to EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas about security guarantees and a just peace in Ukraine, as well as the country’s path to EU membership.
During the debate, speakers will assess the results of the Alaskan meeting between US and Russian Presidents Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin in August, as well as the impact of Russia's continued bombing of Ukrainian cities.
On the other hand, the European Parliament will vote on a resolution on the European Union's action to combat the famine in Gaza, the need to release the hostages and a two-state solution.
