Tens of thousands of Romanians will spend this year's 1 May mini-holiday at the seaside. People have chosen the seaside for relaxation and fun.

There will be an electronic music festival in Mamaia, as well as parties in clubs in Mamaia Nord and Vama Veche.

The first holidaymakers arrived in the seaside resorts as early as Wednesday night, but many arrived at the seaside on Thursday morning, some even for a day of fun with friends.

The good weather is attracting more than 50.000 to the seaside this week, most in Mamaia, Vama Veche and Eforie. 5.000 young people will be on the beach in Mamaia for the Sunwaves electronic music festival. 3.500 are foreigners, mostly from the UK.

- I was at Sunwaves last year. It's a very nice experience that we enjoyed. I hope we have a great time. We've got five nights of fun.

In addition, north of the resort of Mamaia, the Festival du Bonheur awaits, over the next four days, lovers of culinary specialities with international cuisine, a free entry event open to people of all ages.

Also for the general public, on Thursday evening at 19:30, concerts by established Romanian artists started to take place in the Casino Square.
