Twenty-one military procurement projects, ranging from armored vehicles to drones, ships, helicopters, weapons, ammunition, air defense, and radars, will be contracted at a rapid pace in the coming months, announced Minister Radu Miruta on Facebook.
The SAFE project, worth over €16 billion, for the modernization of the Romanian Army and associated infrastructure, was approved by the European Commission.
In turn, Foreign Minister Oana Toiu said, also on Facebook, that Romania had obtained the second largest allocation in the Union following negotiations and that it was part of the first wave of eight countries that had received the green light for strategic investments in defense.
