Coast trains were delayed due to thieves
CFR reports that trains that travel on Bucharest - Constanta railways reach their destination with delays between 10:20 due to theft.

The National Railway Company "CFR" SA informs that trains travelling on Bucharest - Constanta railway reach their destination with delays between 10 and 20 minutes after the last 24 hours, unknown persons stole several components of rail infrastructure related to railway stations Balcescu, Medgidia and interval stations Dor Marunt - Dragos Voda.
We mention that in the last 24 hours, unknown persons stole fines track, electric drive and 150 relays switch installation in cabinets train traffic routing between stations Dor Marunt and Dragos Voda, criminal actions that caused damage to facility routing and delays in the timetable of trains.
Because of these thefts, Tuesday, July the 23rd 2013, 11 passenger trains have accumulated total delay of 261 minutes of arrival at destination stations.
Rail traffic on the relation Dor Marunt - Dragos Voda are still going to sway, with the checking on the field of the switches position on all affected sections, on the thread II of traffic, trains registering delays at destination between 10 and 20 minutes.
Thefts have impact on railway safety
CFR SA has made efforts in recent months to deal with problems caused by thefts of railway infrastructure components through repair and replacement of stolen material, measures that had a positive impact on the mainline railway traffic Bucharest - Constanta, trains reaching at destination on time.
Such criminal actions have a direct impact on railway safety and cause major disruptions timetable of trains.
We recall that the purchase of the ferrous materials used in railway activity is prohibited and constitutes an offense punishable by a fine of 20,000 to 40,000 lei, and those who commit this offense shall pay, in addition to the contravention fine, also a title fee tariff compensation, an amount equal to the concerned railway items, and related labor.
National Railway Company "CFR" SA apologizes to passengers for the inconvenience cause by these actions to steal railway components, which otherwise cause major disruptions and train movement and maneuver, and it ensures that all operational measures taken have as main goal the development of traffic safely.
