17 banks participate in this year's edition of the New Home programme

Three more banks are participating in this year's edition of the New Home programme to support home purchases, bringing the number of banks offering loans partially guaranteed by the state to 17.
However, the number of loans granted in this way is quite low, half the number in 2021, said Dumitru Nancu, president of the National Guarantee Fund.
"Although we halved the guarantee fee from 0.3 to 0.15, notary costs, as well, were reduced by order of the Minister of Justice, currently only 100 guarantees we have granted. It's the first month, people are looking for houses. The appetite for financing and investment now has decreased because we have a war at the border, but we believe that this guarantee ceiling will be exhausted, the budget of one billion lei."
